Ready to Ride
Ā
Horses are beautiful and can be very gentle. They are also large and can be startled easily. It is important to dress and act safely around horses to avoid getting hurt!
It is also important to take regular lessons with an experienced instructor.
Proper Riding Attire
Anytime you go out to the barn or prepare to ride a horse; it is extremely important to have safe footwear, attire, and safety equipment.Ā
When I come to ride, I wear:
- An ASTM-approved helmet, to protect my head if I fall
- Boots with a smooth sole and a heel, to keep my feet from slipping through the stirrups
- Stretchy long pants. Riding tights, jeans, or jodhpurs are best!
- No dangling jewelry allowed!
