The progressive Learning Levels curriculum teaches and tests students on riding skills, barn safety and horse knowledge. Our goal is to create compassionate, confident and well-rounded equestrians. We emphasizeĀ safeĀ practices andĀ equine welfareĀ while having lots of fun!

Who is the Rainbow Level For?

THE RAINBOW LEVEL is designed for young riders ages 5–8 who may not yet be ready to safely complete the objectives of our regular Levels program.

This Level introduces

  • Foundational riding skills
  • Basic horse knowledge
  • Simple horse-care tasks

Students ride on a lead line and may complete all activities with assistance from their instructor, parent, or a ground buddy.

Are you a beginner rider but not a ā€œlittle oneā€? No worries—jump straight into the Red Level Curriculum! You’ll learn everything covered in the Rainbow Level, with lessons designed to be age-appropriate andĀ in more detail. Rainbow Level is NOT required to advance.

All horse enthusiasts can achieve HorseSenseĀ Levels, whether they ride or not. This curriculum is best for students aged 8 and younger.

Horsemanship

TheĀ mounted Horsemanship curriculum – named to reflect the dictionary definition of horsemanship:Ā the art and skill of riding a horse – coversĀ riding skills and theory.

Both the English and Western Rainbow Levels are designed to be taught to students aged 8 and under, with the assistance of well-trained school horses.Ā
